The Organisation

 

The following people (in surname alphabetical order) from CURE Central are the only authorised spokespersons for CURE.

 

  • Harsh Agarwal ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) has worked with several leading National and International organisations, including the United Nations both in India and abroad. He has worked closely with young people from more than 40 different countries which has given him a deep understanding of different cultures, societies, human behaviour, forms of interaction etc. Having himself faced severe ragging at M.L.N. Medical College at Allahabad in 2000, he rallied around various Government of India Ministries and offices including the NHRC for justice. His two years of struggle against the system is perhaps the longest battle fought by any ragging victim in the country and has been acknowledged in a book titled "The Avatar Way of Leadership" authored by Harsh Verma and Published by Rupa & Co. He has been associated with CURE since 2002 and is actively involved in its research and advocacy, writing articles, giving presentations, media management etc.

  • Varun Aggarwal ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) is a PhD candidate in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. Apart from his interest in science and technology, he shares a deep passion for social upliftment. He is with CURE since 2001 and written various articles, editted CURE newsletters, moderated panels, given talks on ragging, etc. for CURE. He is also the founder of MIT India Reading Group (2006-). He writes on education in India, history of technology and teaches an informal (0 credit) course on Hinduism during IAP at MIT. [Personal Homepage]

  • Mohit Garg ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) graduated from IIT Bombay in 2005 with a Dual Degree (M.Tech + B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering where he was awarded the Institute Gold and Silver Medals. He has been with CURE since 2001, has written research articles, participated in talk shows and compiled reports for CURE. He is also the chief webmaster and has designed several versions of the CURE website. He was a part of several community intiatives during college days and is always keen to discuss and contribute to social initiatives. Coalition to Uproot Ragging from Education acknowledges the support of various individuals in its fight against ragging in colleges. It is for the initiative, persistence and hardwork of such individuals, that we have been successful in bringing some change and we continue to look forward to achieving higher goals each day.
